Right now my stocking is
Florida gar
Silver dollar x7
Black arowana
Severum
No good bottom feeder though,
I was thinking of adding Lima catfish,
Would 2-3 be overkill or only enough room for one? Wasn’t sure of their bióload

I would like tiger shovel nose but I heard that’s too big, and while I will probably upgrade it won’t be any time soon maybe after a couple years

What are the dimensions of the aquarium LxWxH rather than gallons. Footprint is better to plan with rather than gallons.

Their build is stick-like, so relative bioload is small. IME they grow to 2 different sizes - 12-14" and 18"+. IDK why. Also they can be timid and can easily get underfed in a too boisterous a community like yours, just something to keep in mind.

Of course they must not fit in the mouth of your present fish, especially the gar, and vice versa. I'd also watch out for bullying by SD if they are the larger species.

If your question is "for life", then it is purely theoretical IMHumO. People's circumstances most usually change, for better or for worse, in the lifetime of a pet fish.

Good point thank you, do you recommend I get a school of 5-6 inch clown loaches instead? I have black bar silver dollars and they can EAT

Just want a nice bottom feeder, or would a TSN have more chance of survival

I also say for life because I don’t knows where I will be financially in a couple years to be on the safe side, I rather only house what my tank will support.

but if life goes well I will keep going bigger, it’s an addiction, 360 already feels so small

Both CL and TSN could work out at least for some time but are very different. CL are an active bottom omnivore while TSN are a rather sedentary (unless in a huge tank) outright predator, who can hit 2.5ft+ in captivity and at that size might eat or attempt to eat all listed tank mates but we usually get refuse TSN with bad genes, slow growth and smaller max sizes in our trade. CL should be of inedible size as eating them is, obviously, bad for them and can be dangerous for your predators - gar, arowana.

To fetch some worthy ideas, we need to understand much more about
1. what you are trying to accomplish and
2. what fish you like, catfish in particular - looks, activity, diet, feeding behavior.

for now I am just trying to get my first monster tank comfortably full. I love the fish as is right now, but I feel like it’s missing some fish at the bottom. I preferred catfish or clown loaches because they usually are more active than bichirs, eels, and plecos. I was also thinking a large fire eel and bichirs, but not sure they would survive since they are more timid.

From my experience clown loaches have done well with bigger fish, but their size scares me with the monsters which is why I thought maybe a big catfish
