3D Art/painting

Never in person but seen plenty of photos... They seem to be quite large pieces when completed, but i wonder how long they last since they seem to almost always be made from chalk...

Good old structural drawing lol...these large scales are simply amazing...ive done more then a thousand small scales when i was in art school. Its actually still 2D tho :).... "3D" would b viewing real life. Even 3D modeling like auto cad programs is actually still 2D becuase ur viewing on a flat plane (screen)...illusions illusions lol...gotta love the brain. Had to be a cynic sorry...its my profession. U can catch a guy making these drawings on a pbs special every once in a while, very cool topic op! Agreed stupid to use chalk!!! All that work for nothing

:p ... details. I am aware it's 2D but because it looks 3D is why I would title it that way. '3D' movies are the same way. They are still 2D but get labeled as 3D.

I guess it matters more for actual artist as there really are two different kinds(real 3D and illusion of 3D )
 
Didnt want to come off as a di$$ but i couldnt resist lol i had this stuff beatin in my brain for 4 yrs in college...and for instructions on how to do it...google "structural drawing" and something should come up. Its based on using "guide lines" to form ur perspective. Ill dig some hw assignments outta my closet for a pic. Some people paint in this method and its also purely ridiculous to look at lol...takes a long time too, you basically make everything in a grid system and go from there.

Alrite these r pretty bad from my freshmen year like 8 yrs ago lol...but gives u an example of the grid and "guide lines".
