hey everyone,

looking at getting a 3d printer and one of the main reasons is to print my own media, mainly k1/k2 style media.

i've run into a snag between resin and abs. i can get a smokin deal on a resin printer, which would obviously make more detailed prints look much better, but my only concern is will resin work for filter media?

if anyone has tried this or has any technical insight, please let me know!

Good idea, but
CAUTION: regular polyester resin is not waterproof - it will degrade, likely into something nasty.
Epoxy resin should work, though. Several-fold more costly, particularly for UV cure.
Polyvinyl is somewhere in the middle, at least as I understand it.

I'd suggest sticking with ABS.
Alt., ABS, PLA or poly-resin 3D print a 2-side multi-mould & then make/mounld your K1 elements from a cheaper 2-part epoxy (resin) or gelcoat or so.
