3ft 165L Oscar tank

just thought i would post a pic of my tank as i haven't posted one yet ( it was taken on my $99 phone so its not the bestquality picture. My O is hiding behind the reptile vines because i brought some drift wood home today and he hasn't stopped checking it out yet.

WTF. Are you kidding? Its a 165 LITRE not GALLON lol. More like 45g or something. Too small for a singular O.

your gonna have to upgrade to about a 65 gallon I would say but your tank is decorated very nice they do like to have plenty of cover to hide in I built some caves up and got some bamboo that is growing really nicely and a few peices of driftwood in my oscars little 250 gallon pond I have a few other live plants in there also right now but I am unsure of their names ... my oscars are only at about 6 inch range i would say just eyeballing them one albino and one wc peru

Well i have had him for about 6 months now i know he will grow out of the tank but for now that was all i could afford on my budget a new tank and stand for a say 5ft is about 900 at my lfs and that 3ft only cost me 150 complete stand canopy tank UGF etc. I'm living in a unit so BIG tanks are hard because the landlord has to let me have them first and 3ft isn't that large for a person who hasn't been around aquariums before.
Its kind of like my friend got me into fish keeping and i had no idea what i was doing nor did he but he reckoned he did. So if i could go back and change how i did it i would but for now i love my O for he is 'Unique'. So in my 6 months experience i know what i "Must do" and what i "Shouldn't do again" everybody has to start somewhere and money doesn't grow on trees unless its marijuana ha ha.

Thank you lizard. I also got an aqua one 1000 canister filter the other day as well filters tanks up to 200L + im contemplating building Under Gravel Jets to keep waste from touching the bottom and reducing dead spots in the tank for extra cleanliness.

Nice tank, will be to small someday, but until then enjoy your oscar very much. We all take a little risk and money doesnt grow on trees like you said.
