I'd go planted with just a few amano shrimp in the beginning, and then add a single male betta once everything has stabilized.

Don't forget to add a filter (HOB)

hmmmmm sounds cool anyone else? if i have bettas i want to breed them it'd be....... different than my consttant flow of guppy fry.

That would be a great little planted tank full of shrimp and a few glowlight and neon tetras, I have a 1 1/2g in the bathroom like that now, the light keeps it in the high 70's and it contains a UGF.
