3m black sand and filters question

i've got an fx5 and a filstar xp4 and was wanting to switch to this 3m colorquartz sand everyone is talking about.
my question is: will the sand destroy my filters or will i be good to go?
do i want t-grade or s-grade

If you plan on using your filters as sand vacuums then yes, it will destroy them.

ok, well, supposing that i wasn't going to use them like that... just normal usage.

Then you should be good too go!

T or S is your choice I like S, the T is really coarse while S resembles fine sand. Stop by wherever you're getting yous from and get a little sample or something too compare.

Also raising the filter intakes up a couple of inches will help out a lot if you have any fish that like to kick up the sand.

I have a 14"-16" pl*co that likes to put his head up to the glass and poor on the gas stirring up the sand. Think he just like putting it in piles.

Both the S and T grades settle back down fairly fast.

omg flstffxe, i have a 7 inch pleco that did that when i changed the gravel with a super fine , powder-like sand....all didnt go to good with my filter :/
