Is this suitable substrate for a hystrix?

I wouldn't use it. I know there are ray folks here that do use it, but the grains are coated with lots of chemicals. I would suggest something that is not coated.

I've come to find out the t grade is discontinued, I'm looking into the tahitian moon mixed with some finer gravel. Anyone had any good luck with mixtures and what looks the best?

Estes took over the 3m stuff. It's the same thing tho. The stuff I buy is sold at same place I use to get the 3m at. It runs around $20-22 for fifty pounds
I've used it for atleast 4 years and love it. I use the t grade

you'll be fine, I've been running it for around 4 years also.

I'm looking for it and I have found estes black gravel but idk how big it is. I don't want sand b/c of my filters. Looking for 2-3mm rocks, would like to do a mix of light brown and black or tan and black.
