from my research i found the T grade is very sharp and could potentially damage the belly of a baby ray? however the T grade is heavier and wont move around as much compared to the S grade which is more rounder and smaller

which one would u recommend i get T or S?

ive heard S is better!!!

i have T grade and its not sharp at all.

i have 3 polys, 1 common pleco and a ghost knife and they dont have any problems with it.

however, when i get rays i plan on having no substrate.

polys are a lot hardier then rays. im talking specifically for a pup here.

i really like Polys by the way ive been researching them for about 3 weeks their amazing creatures! i will for sure look into getting a bunch when my rays are gone

The Sgrade is heavy enough that it won't float around when disturbed if that's what you're concerned about. The Tgrade is heavy enough that you can vacuum it like gravel with your python and not worry about sucking it up. I have zero experience with rays, so I can't tell you if the Tgrade is too sharp. Sorry.

I have no issues with mt S grade staying in the water column when doing water changes or when my 14/15" pleco kicks it up. It settles to the bottom quick enough.

I do however have my filter intakes raised about 4" off the bottom of my tanks, to protect the filters.

I've never had the S grade, but thats what I would use. Its difficult to get in Salt Lake City.

I myself, after a ton of reading and comparing, decided to go with Estes Medium Broadcast. Its used for floor painting and floor epoxy. You can buy it at any paint supply warehouse. I got it for $24 for a 50lb bag.

My rays are loving it. Its heavy. The grains are round and not sharp.
