Hi guys

Any ideas on SA's to go in a 3x2x2 tank with a 7" Goldsaum?

OR

If i were to sell the Goldsaum what would you do with an empty 3x2x2 ?

cheers

You could maybe put another saum in there and try your luck with breeding. OR maybe just put a bottom dweller, and a few "Dither" fish. I used to have one with 3 Australian Rainbows. I figured that rainbows would look pretty with the bright colors the GT already had.

a 2nd saum will not fit in there. imagine if the male gets too aggro with his new wife and you have to put a divider in, thats 1.5 x 2ft of swimming space per fish which is no where near enough. a 4x1.5x1.5 ft tank is much more suitable to a pair but some may say even this is too small.
i reckon you could get away with your single saum but keep in mind that males have been reported to hit 12", although 10" is far more likely. if you get the legendary 12" saum then a 3x2x2 will not be enough. although its 90G, length is more important with GT's as they cruise more than dwell. if he starts to look cramped then its time to upgrade. but no more cichlids in there as its too small for any more attitude.

catfish should be left alone as long as you stay away from corydoras as he may attempt to eat them and both parties can die then. brochis are like a large version of bronze cory and should be ok, pictus and synodontis as well. it mainly depends on the individual fish as to whether or not he can have any tankmates.

cheers for that.

As much as i love him, im going to (try to) sell him on, to someone with a large tank that can give him lodasa cruising space...

Thanks for the ideas though guys, most appreciated
