I am setting up 4 20 gallon tanks to house baby convicts in. I want to start on this today. But I have no clue on how to build the stand that will hold 4 tanks. Any ideas?

Just use 2x4's. I would go with a two up top two on the bottom. make it the length of two tanks and use center brace that the inside edges of the tanks can rest on. You could probably make this setup in about 40 minutes.

Its going to be in the basement so looks isnt a concern. I was thinking about cinder blocks actually since its the basement. but I dunno.
Cement block will work fine. Cross them with some 2x4's to set the tanks on and your good to go. Use Styrofoam under the tanks to take up some of the stress caused when the wood twists from dampness and causes an uneven surface.

Ok I went and picked up some 2x4's and some cinder blocks. Gonna get started on this in a few minutes. I'll take pictures when it is finished.

Finished it a little while ago and then started hanging plastic. My house has the old river rock foundation and I didn't want anything falling from the walls into the tanks. With the plastic up it creates a segregated room just for the tanks. Plus reflects light better. After putting the stand together i noticed that i could actually fit 5 20 gallon tanks on it. 3 on top and 2 on bottom. Next step it setup. Dunno how I want to filter and heat everything yet.

Already have plans for that. Picking up a 150, 2x 100, 2x 75 gallon tanks for $400 And also getting a 125 off a buddy of mine. Been planning using this space for a fish room just never got around to it yet. Now its in the works.
