4.5 Inch Male Festae Behavior?

Hello All,

My 4.5 inch male festae seems VERY VERY timid.

He has found a place in the rocks and hides there all day long.

Even when I feed, he will not leave the place but eats when the food finally arrives at his hole.

When he does swim around (which isn't much) nobody picks on him and his colors seem good.

I am hoping that his is his behavior for now until he grows.

Is it normal for this fish to be so timid. I have a small jag that is very shy also. The jag is about 3.5 inches. Very beautiful, but still timid.

Even though Festae have the reputation of being aggressive, Ime every fish has their own peronality. Mine was out and about at that age and now at 7-8" swims around with a 12" Dovii. I think he's overly aggressive and sometimes I wish he was a little more timid. Yours might grow out of his shyness as he matures.
