I just purchased a bumblebee grouper from Wes @ rare fish, and first of all I must say he is a great guy to deal with and he answered all of my questions and problems. The grouper isn't in brackish, but fresh with some marine mix and Epsom salt added as of right now, so I didn't know where to put this topic. Any tips or helpful things to know? I know the size these fish get, and their needs as they grow. I've only had mine about a week, and I've fed him rosey red minnows just to sort of get him going. No luck with carni stix but I'll try once he gets a bit larger. He's about 4" roughly in a 36 gallon grow out with basic, hard water until he can go to my larger set up and on from there. He also seems to be hiding all the time in a cave I made for him. Will he warm up to me or are they shy fish? I have a few other questions about them. Growth rates? What you fed them? Activity? Susceptible to any irregular diseases? Personal experiences? Any info at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
