My new Jag has been in my tank for 4 days,i was told by the staff of my local LFS (it belonged to 1 of those guys) that the jag ate feeders and pellets.Well all i can get it to eat is flakes once in awhile,is this normal??My water perimeters are ok,and he is in only with 3 silver dollars a Pleco and a small Synodontis.:swear:

try feeders, or anything alive, the motion will generally trigger the strike

Fish can go a long time without food. Generally with the new enviroment and tankmates it might take awhile for it to settle in. Don't sweat it, it would take quite a long time for it to starve to death. maybe months. I have a buddy who has a 14" shark that hasn't eaten in 4-6 weeks that he knows of.

how big is the jag? the bigger/older it is the longer it will take to adjust to the new tank. I would keep offering a few pellets per day until it finally accepts them. after that you could throw in a few feeders now and then as a treat. my male trimac didn't eat for 2-3 weeks after being moved to a new tank so I'd just give it some time. if you're really concerned you could up the tank temp by about 3-5 degrees F. that will increase his metabolism and also his appetite. :)
