in the river under that big old log
ok well here is the deal!!! my friend just called me and asked me if i could take 4 baby ebjd from him. i have fancy fan tailed guppy's in my tank can i put the baby's in the tank with the guppy's till tmmorrow morning or is it a bad idea becouse they are cichlid's? might i add most of the guppy's are bigger than the ebjd's

Just to let you know this is the wrong forum. EBJDs are basically fancy JDs, there is no difference in what it is. It's still the same species. Should have posted in the CA/SA Cichlid subforum. Ask a mod to move this for you.

Anyway moving on.

Basically from what I can gather most of the guppies are bigger than the ebjds. That doesn't mean that there are no smaller guppies than the jds. The thing is:

Would you be willing to face the risk of some of your guppies. Are your guppies some expensive thousand dollar show fish or just the run of the mill fancy tailed guppies?

Personally I would try it. But, I'd be willing to risk it.

I wouldn't worry about the guppies that are bigger than the jds. Those won't get eaten but there is a risk for the smaller guppies.

Basically its like asking will a great white shark eat a sperm whale? No, because it can't stomach it (same as in your situation) but it can still kill it.

It's up to you, but I say go for it.

i mean not really expensive but high valued guppy's!! umm... mostly what ive bred threw the year's and i think ill put them in a custom in-tank holding area that i breed my guppy's in

The guppies are bigger than the EBJDs?! Those must be some very small EBJD's. They should be perfectly fine with the guppies then. I have had feeder guppies in with my 8inch EBJD's and they wouldnt eat them.
