Hi all,

I am thinking of getting a 4 inch Motoro Pup and was wanting to know if it would be safe to put him in my 450 G with 8 Peacock Bass, The bass vary in size from around 8 inches up to around 14 inches.
Just want to know if it is safe as they are quite expensive over here and I don't want any harm to come to it.

dont think that hed get any food with all the competition from the bass, i wouldnt mix them

Foods not the issue as the bass will only eat floating food such as Hikari food sticks and the Motoro eats sinking pellets.

4 inch is tiny!

What kind of pbass are they?

I have 2 Tems and 6 Mono's

I have yet to see cichla that don't eat anything thrown into a tank. You will need to feed the cichla till they're full so that the ray will get anything at all to eat.

i would grow the ray out in another tank for a little bit...

I would definitely be growing the pup out a bit more Peter.

all you can do is try, if the ray doesnt get any food. prepare another tank so that you can grow it out.

OK here is what I am going to do.

I will be growing the ray out in a 3x2x2 by himself so there will be no competition for food.

At what size do you all think it will be safe to introduce him to the PBass.

Thanks for all the advice guys as I am so new to Rays. I Just want to give him a good home.

8" + will be a better size to add the ray..
