picked up 4 JD from lfs nice and healthy sml about 1.5", had a 29 sitting around decided to start em, hoping a pair will show......through in a piece of slate, propped up on a couple of rocks, going to add some small gravel, and see what happens, if some spawning occurs ill get em a 55, buying tanks is my other hobby

if they are only 1.5" its going to be a little while before they start to bread i think they start breading around 5-6"
I agree also around 5-6", females especially seem to take forever before they are receptive to the aggressive male.
tanks for the info, maybe ill go ahead and start setting up a 55 for them, inspire some growth, what would be the ideal tankmates for the 4 jd's in that 55? my camera is m.i.a. heres a pic of my 125 i keep 3 dif. albino oscars, upside down cat, pleco,and squiggy the tweeker blood parrot? anyways thanks for the help with these jd's.
4 full grown JD's or just the babies?
When they get full grown (and if you keep them all or if they are breeding) their is little you could add to the tank because they will kill it.
Might want to go with some bottom feeder (loaches maybe, my bro has big green cory cats with his JD, some smaller catfish), an algae eater, and/or a dither of some sort (giant danios)
