My black aro is 12" or so and he'll eat MAX of 4 jumbo carnisticks a day...is this ok or "should" he be eating more? If so, how do I get him to et more?

I got a 5" jardini that eats more lol. Hell eat until he looks like his going to pop! Wtf is up with my black and his anorexic girly appetite!

Bump? :duh: A 19 minute old thread?

I went through the same thing with my older black aro(wild caught at 11"). It would hardly eat anything, only grew 8-9" in the first 3 years I owned it. It wasn't until it was put with my two large silvers that it ate normally. It then had a growth spurt of 5-6" in about six months. If it is eating then it is fine, you may try skipping a day between feedings to get it more aggressive, but this may not do anything to help.

I posted this thread yesterday SMH lol :)

And I think the key to this is, competition. Like u said, once u added your Silvers, he started eating more due to the competition. That's actually the only thing I haven't tried to get him to eat more.

It's all G. Once my jar is big enough hell be mad competition to my black.

You can, as already suggested, skip feedings. It has worked for me in the past. Another thing that has worked for me was to add aggressive feeding tankmates. Also, I must add. A Jardini as a tankmate for your black will only end badly for the black.
