It can hold it but not for life. Maybe 2-3 years time max in that size pond. I would go larger if u can. RTC's can reach close to 5' with the proper care and right size environment. U wouldn't want to stunt them...

4x8 is absolute minimum if your lucky. This is secondhand, but this will atleast do for several years. If the cat grows to 4', I would suggest bigger.
