40 breeder stocking ideas?

I will probably be getting a 40 breeder for my birthday. Any ideas on stocking, decorating, Substrate, real pedals plants, peaceful or aggressive, community or one wet pet, filtration etc. The whole shabang! Thanks!

You should narrow down some choice, what do you like? For cichlids try a pair of convicts and a small group of swordtails

Unfortunately for me I like the big New World cichlids haha like jags, dovii, red devils, oscars, JDs, GTs, etc. I have never had an ebjd before and I think I want one. (I will be stocking with baby fish from 1 to 2 inches long). I know ebjds tend to be more passive than regular jds and cant compete with other fish as welll so what are some good tankmates for an ebjd?
