so i have been working on a setting up a 40 breeder for just my bichirs and wanted to use live plants

now im gonna use sand for the substrate (i have already) and a glass lid so i get a decent light. my question is what type/brand of filter should i get? what plants would work well with bichirs. what do i want for lighting

im new at this whole plant thing so any help is welcomed

also i wanted to use moss but i dont know much about it

Go for a bunch of anubias plants... they come from africa (just like bichirs! :) ). They are pretty much impossible to kill, you don't need any special lighting at all. There are quite a few different species available but the most common is anubias nana IME.

no sand use flourite its made of a clay called laterite which u can buy super cheap on ebay its what plants grow in in the wild sand u have to stir up unless u have trumpet snails
