I have a 40 gallon tank black trim that needs to go. It's still in great condition. I'm moving and can not take it with me. Only asking for $80. Pick up only. I'll put up some pictures later.

Let me know if your interested.

Don't want to knock your price - as you should always get what you think it's worth. But around here on MFK you're lucky if you get more than a dollar a gallon on anything under 100 gallons.

That's what I was thinking. I was looking at a new one of these the other day at a LFS - it was $100. $80 used isn't going to move fast. Or at all.

So what would be the best price for it?

Is it acrylic. Acrylic usually raises the price quite a bit. With glass, if you add a couple items like a heater or hob filter, you could probably make the tank $60 or $70.

I only have the tank from my entire setup and its glass. So would $50 be a fair pricing?

For just the tank, I would give that a shot and see if anyone bites. 40g long aren't as common as, say, a 55 standard - so you may get more than $1/gal out of it.

So $50 it is. Thanks everyone. I'll probably make another thread a week from now.
