40 gal quarantine container?

Will a 40 gallon tank be ok as quarantine tank for a 6 inch stingray? Or is it too small?

or 50 Gallon tank be good enough for 2 weeks to quarantine 6-7 inch pup?
I'll do daily wc and also test.
i just lost a pup which was sick and too thin from LFS, LFS has agreed to replace it. but i have another pup which is really healthy and in my big tank.
I don't have a quarantine tank will a 50 gallon be good enough for 2 weeks?

I think that is plenty fine with large water changes for several weeks

thanks, planning to do daily wc after feeding.
will i be needing a power filter? or will sponge filter also work for this?
will do daily testing also.

I think somthing a little more powerful than a sponge filter would be better maybe HOB or canister

Sponge filter could work but they will take up space and you will need several
