Ok, I wanna commit my new 40gal breeder to catfish(thanks to petco's 1$ per gallon sale!) I will have plant's in the tank and a sand bottom. I know a few types of small cats I want to keep but want maybe 1 or 2 cooler ones. And I want help getting more, I want true catfish not cordoya. Any recommendations will be great! Ill post pics of them when they come in.

My stock list so far is:
2 pictus
1-2 whip tail cats
1-2 akysis vespa

A larger group of Pictus is always fun to watch. I'd say a total of five would be a good sized group, but then again, it is only a 40g Breeder. But it's your choice! I have 5 in my 60-Gallon Cichlid tank; always fun to watch come out of the rocks and quickly eat as much as they can during feeding time, lol.
Or maybe just a school of Cories... or both! lol

Get some bumble bee cats.

The akysis vespa are like bumble bees but smaller.

And I may up the group to 3 pictus. How many cats you guys will work in it?

If you went strictly pictus you could go with five or six, maybe seven.

Ok, I might do that but I think I am gonna look around on planet catfish for other smaller cats, anyone else got recommendations? All is welcome

not think akysis vespa will last with pictus in my opinion though a bumblebee will be better with pictus though.

I do not have suggestions at this time.

Ok, Ill get a bumble bee and 3 pictus and 2 whip tails. Could I keep any more smaller cats in there?

My filtration will be a ac 110( do you think I need bigger). I heard raphael never come out is only thing.
