Hey guys so I really want to get a FH. I have seen both answers a lot online. Assuming it is a full bodied one, could I keep a FH in a 40 gallon breeder or would that be to small? I do not want to do something that will harm the fish or anything like that, but at the same time larger tanks are not something I can do right now because of space where I live. I'll wait on getting one if that is to small. I could probably also fit a 55 but I read that the 40 would possibly be better because of the foot print.

55 should be fine for the flowerhorn! Just keep one or two in there. If you're worried get a short bodied one or a bonsai.

It might not reach its potential.. I had a 18 inch flowerhorn no joke was a massive flowerhorn biggest one I've ever seen online or in person. I got it maybe 12 inches from a guy who had it in a 20 gallon long. I put it in my 200 gallon and man did the fish grow huge. He was one ugly flowerhorn though but his kok was insane

I've seen truly huge flowerhorns, that wouldn't fit in either a 40 or 55; it's doable with a smaller flowerhorn, but it comes down to whether you can or should.

Exactly some grow normal size some shorter most don't since they're all hybrids you never know

Thanks guys for the replies! If I were to get a 40 or 55, how long would you say they can stay comfortable in it before needing something bigger if they do grow to that point? I would buying one 1-2in.
