Would a 40 gallon breeder provide adequate space for a blood parrot and platinum parrot?

Would the likelihood of them spawning be slim due to a male platinum parrot maxing out much smaller in size than a female BP?

For a growout tank for the BP, sure. Longterm I would say not. The chances of them spawning at some point is high as long as she isn’t significantly bigger then him. It’s fine if she’s a little bigger.

Thank you. Does it make much of a difference if it’s a 50 breeder instead of a 40?

More water volume always helps. But for footprint it’s still pushing it to be anymore then a growout tank for a BP, imo. You could pull it off for a good while though. Give it a shot.

Ok, thanks again for the reply. I’ll chose a different fish then because my 75 gallon is already occupied, so I won’t have a for sure upgrade for the BP in the future.

As for breeding, it would probably still be fine. Convicts will breed with anything.
