i seen on an other post a guy said he was gunna put a green terror into a 40 gallon breeder and people said that it would be ok in there for life?? what about a jack dempsey in a 40 G breeder? is a 40 GB better then a 55G?

Depends what filtration are you going to have? 40g breeders are better because they have a bigger width, more area to swim.

A 40 breeder is a short, stout aquarium. It is one foot shorter lengthwise than a 55g, but 6" wider, which some would argue is better. There are drawbacks to both tanks, but I'd say either would be fine for a single JD (a 40 breeder only if it's the only fish in the tank).

Considerering a green terror is similiar in size to a green terror, yes it should be find, but then again my tank is going to have 2 powerful canister filters. Get some good filtration on that tank. I would suppose a 40 breeder is better in some ways than a 55, mostly cause the fish have more room to turn around and move.

trying to see if i should trade in my 55 for a 40 breeder just i wanna know for sure witch would be better for my jack dempsey....

Depends on you, both are good. But if I were you, I'd stick with the 55 gallon. 40 gallon breeders cost more, just for the tank alone. Then the lights, filter, decor would all lead up to around 200$-300$ and you already have something that can support you jd.
