I have a new 40-gallon freshwater tank that currently only has a pleco and a Spiny Eel in it. Any suggestions on what fish I should stock it with?
Depends on the look you're going for. Usually small American cichlids like Rams would work.I have a new 40-gallon freshwater tank that currently only has a pleco and a Spiny Eel in it. Any suggestions on what fish I should stock it with?
I am looking for something colorful to brighten up the fish room.Depends on the look you're going for. Usually small American cichlids like Rams would work.
It's a common 4.5" pleco, and a 4" zigzag spiny eel. What type and size pleco and eel do you have currently?
Bolivian Rams seem to be much hardier, IMEYou might consider Aequidens pulcher (blue acara) for that size tank. I like the blue rams as well, but can never keep them alive for long.
Yeah, once I get my bigger tank I will probably move the pleco into that one.Maybe a pair of a smaller Cichlid like a convict, salvinis or firemouths ECT. Also you might want to consider eventually moving the pleco as Commons get very large (18 plus inches)
