I currently have a 5 inch African Brown Knife that I got November 30th at a place called Fish Nutz. He is pretty active and quite curious.
I got a ctenopoma today ,12/24/13, its a girl, but she is really small (1/2 inch) she is being monitored in a smaller container. She is actually quite active.

Moved the little girl into her big tank. She can wolf down pellets like there is no tomorrow. She made her home inside a mug, and I specially deliver about 10 small cichlid pellet inside the mug, and after 5 mins they are gone. She is quite adventurous, but the abk hates her, and chases her behind the powerhead. Can't wait till she can defend her self.

wont the kife fish eat the other smaller fish??

I thought that, but he has been playing nice. In fact the ctenopoma actually eats the knifefish's food sometimes

Yep, definitely some small loaches. maybe tetras or corydoras
