I just thought of an idea, what if i get 2 55 gallons assuming theyll fit side by side in the stand and use 1 as a k1 filter and the other a bunch of those pothos plants to help with the nitrates?

Ok first I think you will deffinatly need a larger filter in the future so addressing it now isnt going to hurt. I've always kept extra biological media in my sumps and have always had good cycled bacteria full media to start other tanks, never any problem. I like the twin 55g idea. If you have the money for the k1 and to properly run it then that's great. I have pothos and I believe it allows me to only have to do a weekly 75% water change to keep my nitrates around 20ppm. I have plants in my tank also but plants that have their leaves in the air and roots in the water are way more efficient at removing nitrate the aquatic plants. So some floating plants that grow quickly may help also problem with them is flow too much and they die. Make sure you have good flow in the tank for solid export then some mechanical filtration to catch it and your twin 55 will be great.
Oh I'd actually put some other media in the plant 55 ceramic, lava rock, pot scrubbers whatever just for back up.
