I need 40 gallon breeder salt water stock suggestions. Kindof New to saltwater fish. Just have a 20 gallon salt, and have finally figured out how to take care of it right. Haven't lost any of the fish in it.

I would like something of a medium size. 3-5" and Peaceful. I'm wary to pick for myself, as I don't know what fish go with others.

Any suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated.

You wont get any 5" inch fish living successfully in a 40 breeder...up to 3 inch is more realistic....

There is a stocking suggestion list in the following article i wrote...its for a 30 gallon, but, it will give you idea's on what you can house...

Agree with Reefscape. 40 Breeders are great tanks but you dont generaly see them stocked with large fish. Most 40 breeders ive seen have had a mass of corals, something you could try.

Otherwise for fish, most all gobies will live in there very well, just do the research to see there adult size, etc......
Smaller species of reef safe wrasses would be fine, but they are fairly active so keep that in mind.
Chromis' will work but you'll need a fairly small school of them.

Read the article provided and do some research on www.liveaquaria.com and www.saltwaterfish.com These sites will give you extensive lists of fish, post what you like and we'll let you know what we think.

Happy Thanksgiving.
