40breeder stock ideas

As titled. I have a 40breeder that is soon to be empty. Looking for some ideas on stock. I dislike cichlids, have gar and tetra displays. Looking to do something interesting, thoughts. The tank has white sand and syriku stones.
 
you could do a rhom! and it'll be fine in a 40 until about 7" or 8"
 
I have an african hedgehog in mine. still cooler than native fish... just dig a small pond, why bother wasting a 40 breeder
 
I have thought about a rohm. I just don't know what I would do with it once it is of size. I have my 125gal planted with tetras and angels. My 180gal is a full gar display. Once I move I will be building a gar tank/pond. How long would it take to out grow the 40breeder?

I won't do any small animals or reptiles, due to my wife. If she wasn't deathly afraid of them I would have some sort of reptile in the tank. My 40breeder is built into my 125gals custom stand. I do like native fish, but every time I do a native only tank I end up putting something else in it with them.

Also I have a little time to figure it out. I have to wait until I sell my fish in it or move the fish in it to a 20gal that is going to be shut down anyway after they are sold. Then I can get my LNG and gator pumped up quick for the 180gal. So I am not in a big rush to get something in there yet.
