So, i want to make a cinder block stand for my 40 gallon breeder, but:

The cinderblocks are only 16 inches long, while the tank is 18 inches wide.

How do i fix this?

Also, i know i need to place wood in between the tank and the cinder blocks. What type of wood is good for this?

Finally, will i have to cement the cinderblocks together in order for the stand to be stable?

Thanks for all the help

Buy enough Cinder Blocks for each corner, 3/4 plywood.

No you don't have to cement the cinderblocks together unless you want to. After you place the wood on top, place empty tank on wood and see if level with level tool.:)
