40g stocking help

I couldn't find a specific sub forum for the type of fish i am planning on stocking, so here i am, I recently acquired a 75g from a neighbor and i plan on moving the juvie oscar i have into it, freeing up my 40g, i was thinking about doing 1 blood parrot, 3 dwarf gouramis, 1 bristle nose, and 15 neon tetras, anybody have any suggestions on what else i could add? I was considering a lone firemouth, would this work? Any feedback is awesome

scratch the firemouth, just realized he would eat the tetras, how would another bp sound?

the parrots could also eat the tetras.

That sounds about right to me ,might do cardinals or a larger tetra. Even bps are capable of eating neons.

i guess im gonna have to go with the cardinals then, ill put a school of neons in a 10g later on, now that the neons are out, could i put a con/firemouth in the mix?

If male and female yes but don't expect to have any tetras left and watch aggression if you want to have the bps in their as well. 1 of each could work unless a pair forms

If you plan on keeping small tetras, I'd scratch any cichlid off the list besides maybe dwarfs.

instead of neon tetras you could do a group of 10-15 exodon tetras (mini Piranhas)

But then it would only be exos cause they'd shred the cichlids especially the bps

Yeah, exos wouldn't work at all with the other stock. Maybe some apistos, rams or something similar if you're definitely wanting cichlids in there.
