40gal - somewhat planted tank, re-stocking

My planted tank (was a community, but it's been changed to a rescue tank for the last year or so.) The fish in it are going to go to a permanent home soon (finally!), and I've been contemplating what to go in.

I don't think I want anything small again, I just don't like the community fish anymore.

Suggestions for medium sized fish to put in there? Preferably SA/CA fish.

You can try Dwarf Cichlids like Kribensis, Rams, and such.

if you just want to stick with SA/CA fish, you could go with a couple medium sized plecs along with a couple smaller cichlids

if you want to branch out, try an african brown knife along with a couple plecs, or some angelicus botia loaches, or synodontis...
