More than 40 people, including children, suffered injuries from stingrays that invaded several beaches in San Diego, California, on Wednesday.
According to lifeguard Lieutenant John Everhart, the number of stings is higher than normal, but not unheard of, as the marine animals are common in the area this time of year.
At least one person was taken to the hospital with a not life-threatening injury, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. In total, 41 beach-goers were stung along La Jolla Shores and Torrey Pines..........

Seen a video from the 2nd of July where Hundreds of rays were swimming in the shallows of Huntington Harbor in Cali so it wouldn't surprise me to hear this.

People need to realize when you go to the beach and you step into that water. You're the guest... and if you don't abide by their rules you will get hurt.

Easy way not to get stung is by sliding your feet along the bottom that way you won't make direct contact with the ray by stepping on its back and it gives the ray time to feel the vibrations in the sand and flee. Not hard at all, growing up in Miami, Florida its common sense to respect those who inhabit the ocean...
