thanx only took about 45 min i water tested it no leaks
 
Can you reference what article this was from and why didn't you use an end cap on the bottom?

not sure i understand what you mean by refrence. This was all designed and built by me.

also i used a removable cap on the bottom so i can change the air stones as the top is secured and the stones are attaced with hard line and cant be taken out through the top. it will help if i ever need to clean the inside.
 
He's been under the weather lately and probably missed the thread. I think he was asking about the design type and how it was put together, but you pretty much answered it. I'm guessing it's a counter current design, right?
I have a six footer waiting on my SW tank. It is a beckett crossed with the design with a collumn of bio-balls (can't think of the name, but ETS comes to mind). I think the design may be a loser but it was able to produce skimmate with fresh water.
