i have a 44gal acrylic tank with the demensions 48''x14''x14'' i really only want to put 2 fish in there a lion fish and a snoflake eel. Will this tank be big enough? are the fish compatiable together? what other stuff should i put in there any live rock, anenomie? other fish? whats the best filter setup for sw? just basic stuff i would need this will be my first sw tank if you cant tell i have 2 fw and want to try something els. also i herd i might experence some salt creap with the acryllic is there stuff i would use to prevent this?

sorry for all the quiestions but any help would be great

might not be wide enough, as i hear the snowflake can reach almost 30 inchs.
as for the eel and the lion together, i have seen it done and actually that is what i wanted to do but just cant afford it right now as i was thinking about a 65-80gal set up for these guys
also your going to need about 60+lbs of liverock in that tank which is usually about $7-10 per pound

Yea I herd that the eels like to hide a lot Though would I need All that live rock even with a good filter though.

well the only way i can see it possible to limit your liverock is to get a wet dry filter or build one onto a sump, i wouldn`t really suggest limiting your liverock though, it is great filtration and with a lion and eel you are going to need it.

the lion and eel should be get along well as long as the lion can`t eat the eel and vice versa

ide say go with a deep (4-6")sand bed and maybe a 10-20 pound mix of liverock and baserock. a cheap o skimmer and hob filter. just be sure to change the filter media every week and do a 5-10% waterchange EVERY week,,,and youl be fine. ps. you might want to look for a smaller eel for that size tank.
