I have a single rbp at about 2 inches right now, Currently He is in my 45tall(36x13x24) right now. I cant afford to buy a larger tank anytime soon. Can my single rbp live by himself in the 45 tall for life?
thanks in advance:)

depends on how big the fish can get, since your tank is only 13" wide, it'll be hard for the fish once it reaches 8" and up. so the most I'd say you have few years out of that tank, maybe like 4 years or so

id say yes its 13 inches wide so he'll have enough space to turn around when full grown (12 inches) but he may be a little cramped (only 3 feet of swimming space) a 40 gallon long tank wouldve been better but this will do for quite some time

just upgrade when u can. as long as he doesnt need it right now then it should last longer.

Yes if you want it to live a miserable life. Minimum tank size of 75 gallons IMO.

13 inch is too narrow, once it reaches 8 inches you need to upgrade.
can live.but to quote the post above this.."miserable life"

Just grow him out in the current tank. When he seems to be getting large go to you're LFS and see if they'd except you old tank for store credit or for partial trade for another tank. Buy a used one, who cares? Also don't forget to shop craigslist.

had a p for 5 years in a 75 gallon tall(13) in wide only got to 9in... he/she had some trouble turning in the tank

now ive upgrade to a 18in wide tank and my other p's(3yrs old) have already grown in a matter of 3 months
