I'm planning on getting some new tanks soon and one improve them is 450. I want an aggressive community ie; parachromis, cichlasoma, caquetia. I already have pair tanks established this time I would like to see if I can get away with an aggressive community. The dimensions are 72"x72"x20". I would love to see what everyone else would come up with:) and feel free to post pics of your community or tanks. Thank you Jason.

I've never had such a big tank but if it was me I would get:

-Festae
-Jags (Mojo has some of his Honda jags at Rapps now I think)
-Motaguense (thanks for the tips BTW)
-Loiselli
-Dovii
-Umbee
-Beani

If you get them all small...would that be too much aggression?

Thanks cichlidoholic. That stocklist sounds great. And if I did get all small I'm sure it would work for a year. I was thinking if I'm gonna have Dovii, umbee, and jags I would prolly keep single males and go with pairs for rtm, loiselle, and festae so they don't get beat on too badly by big boys. The beani aren't cheap but not bad idea. The fish I'm interested for the tank are gonna range from 4-8.

Does anyone have a large aggressive community tank? Maybe have umbee, dovii, And jags might not be the best idea.

OK this What I have in mind. I know I stated earlier about a large and aggressive community but how does this sound?
4-rtm
3-bocourti
3-pearsei
4-vontehillo
3-neets
2-yellow labridens
2-blue labridens

They would all be 2-3" and down the road possibly pulling singled out fish leaving pairs and established singles. Also could throw in a couple istlanums and grammode growouts of mine. Did it sounds like a bit much to me. But I think in a tank that size I could do it. What does everyone else think. I'm still not set on a certain stocklist and would love the input. Thanks Jason

i say jags and red devils. maybe a dovii or a umbee, but not both. lots of big mean cichlids for that size tank...

If I go with the new list I posted then I wouldn't go with dovii, umbee, devils etc
But I could throw a jag in the mix. Otherwise amphilophus would be nice but I would prolly go with a xilo or something a lil smaller and less aggressive as red devil . The fish on new list wouldn't hold up too long with those monster predators.

I think Your new list would be Okay.Only problem might be with the motas' but with that footprint You should be okay.Personally I would add a pair of festae ;)
