But don't panic, I bought it that way. One crack along the bottom acrylic panel, down the length of the tank. I can't seem to find a local plastic supplier who can provide me with a large enough panel to replace the bottom so I'm currently flirting with the idea of sealing it. Do you guys think that would work? Maybe getting a couple thin pieces of acrylic to seal on top of the crack after I've sealed it...
On the bottom? have you thought about heating it and "rewelding" the crack? Idk if you dont have the brass for that just seal it with some madman epoxy i wouldnt use silicone just bc of the load bearing sense of it

Yeah on the bottom. I've never welded anything before, so that's not an option I want to try. I was just gonna get some weld-on and and see if I could seal it all up, then throw a coat of liquid rubber on the bottom or something. It's gonna but covered by substrate anyway...
I wish I could find tanks like that. closest I found was a 250g that is cracked and needs 2 new panels and they still want $500 for it. there is a guy selling a 50G for $700 but you get the fish also (there tetras in it) oh what a deal it is now. you should be able to seal it without to much issue imo. a little extra support wouldn't hurt though. I cant see it being any different than a corner seam. somone can correct me if I'm wrong though
acrylic is really easy to fix.. the bottom is suposed to be supported by the stand.. this means while the bottom of the tank is still the bottom of the tank.. the weight of the water is handled by the stand not the acrylic...
drill a small hole at each end of the crack and then get some acrylic glue (theres a good chance you will have to order it) and then just patch over it (inside the tank unless you want to put several patches over the whole bottom so that the bottom stays flat)
please post pics of the patch jobs and also with your sweet assortment of prehistoric beauties in it...I guessing it will be there home right? How much did you $$$ for it if you don't mind me asking?

I bought my 360 cracked and repaired it myself, it was very easy to do. I bought the "glue" some kind of acrylic weld glue just used for acrylic. The shop that sold it to me gave me some scrap 1/4 inch acrylic to practice with. I used this "scrap" to make my repair. My tank was broken on the top and side so I had to repair a corner and it was still simple. I cleaned both surfaces then coated the patch with glue and slapped it over the crack. I did this on the inside and outside of the crack just for added strength.
If your crack is on the bottom I recommend just patching from the inside of the aquarium because you need to support the bottom of the aquarium and you don't want that patch pushing the bottom of your aquarium up requiring some kind of cut out in your stand to recess the patch.

Cost me $400. I'll be putting my PBass, and 2 Silver Aro's to start, then adding my Polypterus and Rays when they get big enough... Right now my Endlies are only 3-4", I have a Jardini around 6" now so if he want's to play nice he'll go in there too... I'll post pics of everything when I'm done, even my sump build.
