Hello everyone. After quitting the hobby last summer due to bad economy this summer my 450 has been re set up. My previous set up for filtration was using 3 x Fluval Fx5s which I scrapped and sold last year. I decided to go with a wet dry sump system instead. I started with my sump project set up in Feb 2011. I took my time on this project and finally it is pretty much complete. The trickiest parts was levelling the tank as it's set up in the garage with a super uneven floor and plumbing the set up due to minimal room I had to work with. The filter method I'm using is 2 overflow boxes draining through 4 x 1.5" pvc into a flat down 96 gallon sump with 3 chambers, then the return pump I'm using is a Reeflo Dart/Snapper Hybrid pump discharging into a 1.5" pvc tapered at end into a 1" pvc exit. Right now all that's left to be finished is a drip plate which is being made and going to pick up in a few hours, need to buy more media and some foam blocks. Anyhow it may not be pretty but it works
here are some pics of my new set up. Enjoy.
Cluttered garage...

I found this 96 gallon tank for 25 bux. It was pretty in bad shape but I resealed it properly but went a bit nuts on the silicone hehe.

It ain't pretty but it works

Plumbing time. Started in the day.

Finished at night. Plumbing in tight spots was a bi%^&!!

Next day slowly filling it up to make sure the shims can handle the weight.

What I'm stocking it with is in my sig.
Thanks for viewing.
