:woot: Now i just have to wait 6 weeks. :(
I can't wait until i can put my Aro in there.
How long should i cycle such a large tank? I could add some bio balls from my tank that is running to hurry it along.
Any pointers?

also try "planting" your tank with some of your old clean tank water....congrats!

who u buy from??

Sweet deal. I would set up an extra filter with tons of biomedia, and run it on your current tank. When the new tank is setup, put that filter onto your 450, and that will help speed things along quite well.

DONT DO THAT!!!

that is not needed, there is no benificial bacteria in the water column.

if you do that all you will be doing is introducing nitrate

you dont want that now do you? :)
Yeah, i agree, nitrifying bacteria are not free floating, they need a surface to attach to, hence high surface area filter media.

Screw "cycling" the large tank. Just transfer all old filters to the new tank, at the same time run any new filtration. Theoretically, you should not see any changes, but theres always the chance. Pick up some biospira in case.

The wet dry filters I have are not even close to being big enough for this tank.
I also ordered a BIG W/D filter for it. Yah yah, i know what your thinking I should have done a DIY W/D and saved. If I did that it would have been awhile until I could add water.
This way is faster. Get the tank in, build the stand, than add water.
