i havea 45g with a pair of 2in cons and apair of 3 1/2 in salvinis and i just gota male 3in trimac and the salvinis wont leave it alone what should i do?
Separate , or put the new fish in another tank, or if you can't do either, don't buy more fish till you can house them properly. (not trying to be mean)....It's just common sense though.
Definantly get rid of the Trimac, it is going to outgrow your 45 unless you plan on growing him out. Ditch the salvinis or the cons, you don't want a breeding pair of both in the same tank.
Your tank is way too small for the two pairs you have now (cons and Salvinis). Salvinis grow to be around 10”. Your two pairs should be housed in a min of a 75 gallon. Adding the trimac to the mix my result in fatalities.
salvini breeding pair and convict breeding pair in the same tank????
that tank has to look like a warzone!!!
those are 2 really aggressive spawners IMO. I know trimacs are aggressive but if you put one between a rock and a hard place then he can't really do much.
I recall salvinis being even more aggro than cons, but man just get rid of the trimac or a mate to each of the breeding pairs. But still your trimac will get obnoxiously huge and probably kill the other fish eventually anyway.
stick to a pair or just turn it into a commmunity a 45 is too small to do both.
