I have a empty 45 hex and was wanting to know if Angels are easy to keep and how many can I put in the 45g Hex?

Any Tank Mates????

The benefit you would have with the 45 hex is that it is a tall tank. Large angels do better in deeper water. How wide is it? I would start off with 5 smaller angels and see how it goes, two may pair off and you may only be able to keep the pair in the tank.

They are pretty easy to keep. They will bully other fish, so the tank mates you choose can be smaller but need be quick and things will be fine.

I have around 20 angels in a 75 hex .. i hate that tank.. beautiful to look at but i am not happy about the angels not having having long stride to swim.. i much prefer the long tank for angels.. but if you keep it down to a decent amount and do not crowd it will work out fine.. it is just a hard tank to do water changes and so high also hard to vaccum .. i would never get another one...:D

Lets just say that I began my fish keeping hobby two years ago started with 2 silver angels paired up and ended up with eggs but no fry bad parents.

i currently have 5 angelfish in what we were told was a 75 gal corner hex.. i suspect i've been lied to though, because i did a 20 gal water change the day before yesterday and i took half the water out of the tank.. lol.

Anyway, assuming that it's a 45 gal tank, i have 5 angelfish, 4 that are silver dollar size and Gabriel that is at least double the size of the little guys.

i also use this tank as a grow out tank for my peacock bass.. the angels seem to enjoy the company of peacock bass, at least as juvies..

I think after the baby pbass are big enough to go into the big tank i might get them some other small tank buddies to torment so they don't torment each other.. something colorful... we'll be crossing that bridge later on though.

i keep my 45g with 5 angels (1 altum) and tankmates(babies). i will upgrade soon but that tank iz perfect for 4 reg. angels or 3 with tankmates- perferably 3 w/tm
