45G sump for marine

Hey all this is my design for a sump its a 3x18"x18" for a 55g tank, please tell me if there is something wrong with it. Also has anyone got any plans for a diy protein skimmer? Ive been trying to find some but have not been successful in finding any good ones.

mine is similar except i split that middle section into two and used half for a refugium. the other half i have a container of bioballs.
