I would love ideas for my 46 bowfront. I was thinking African Cichlids? I want colorful, hardy fish. I would also love to see what your African Cichlid tanks look like :)
I have zero tank aquascape whatever design skills....Any help/ideas are appreciated!
 
Ahh. I should reply because I have a 46g bowfront ha. I have several pictus catfish, along with two frontosas which are smaller, a silver feeder goldfish who I am growing out to put in my 125g cuz hes cool looking. A spotted raphael that I never see. I also have plants which makes the fish feel more at ease. I have cambopa, hornworts and something amazon leaf. Im actually getting more plants next week :). I have a small bridge, with a broken vase (fish decoration of course) and a t-rex head lol. I love this set up, wish I had those extra plants now.
 
It is awesome lol. I havent seen the goldfish mess with the plants at all. I do feed him 5x a day because as earlier mentioned Im growing him out to put in my 125. Not to mention they dont have stomachs, so the need to feed increases. I just spotted my larger frontosa take a small nip at my hornwort today? That surprised me. But other then that, no issues. I have to say whatever fish you go with, the addition of plants is not a bad investment solely for the reason it creates a more realistic environment for the fish. If you add plant, make sure you have either dual filters for more water agitation or an air stone(s). Whatever you do, have fun with it!
