475 gallon sump question

Hello,

Just wanted to ask how large the sump should be for my 475 gallon(1800 liters)..Im going to to install a 125 gallon sump and was wondering if that would be ok ?

My understanding is generally one third of display tank from what I have seen from more knowledgeable people than myself. You should probably be fine with your 125 but it could have less water in it than you would like for flood protection. I have a 150 on my 450 and it is half to two thirds full so it can easily handle a power outage.
