Glueing Acrylic is really very easy. You just have to make sure you have a flat level surface to make sure all the edges is making contact and flush. Other than that the glue does the job. I'll keep updating as I progress. As of now I just need some top bracing and then I just need to water test it. Any tips would be welcomed.

1 - 4'X8' of 1/4 acrylic -$116.60
1 - Weld on #4 1/4 pint - $4.00
1 - applicator bottle for the glue - $3.00
$25 to cut acrylic sheet properly and exact

Wow cool! How does $25 dollars to make sure the cuts are exact work?

The cuts have to be precise. No gaps or rough edges. The used a cnc machine that laser cut the acrylic sheet. I each piece came out to be the exact measurement I ordered.

1/4" acrylic is a bit skinny for a tank that size man. You will have trouble moving it without it wobbling all over the place, and it may exhibit quite a bit of bowing.

I'm not sure how much experience you've got with acrylic - your comments though sound a lot like mine did the first time I built an acrylic tank... which promptly failed at the bottom seam. Maybe you know what you're doing, just thought I'd toss in a word of caution. Using pins and clamps to hold the joint while you let the glue 'prime' the joint and then pulling the pins out is the way to go. I'd advise against just lining it up and letting the solvent wick into the joint if that's what you've got planned.

Interested to see how this turns out.

me too. I want to try something like this myself but I'm still gathering info on what works and what don't.

i would have thought 1/4" acylic to thin for a tank that size. Keep us updated on your progress.
