I have two standard 55 gal tanks that are not in use anymore and I am considering removing one of the 4' sides off both of them and making one big tank this way thinking that the seam would be stronger this was than if it were 8' long. I'm planning on removing the trim and braces and building a plywood stand along with a plywood "belt" to brace the seam.
Questions
1. Do you think that this will work?
2. What type of silicone should I use?
3. How do I remove the trime and sides without shattering the glass?(tempered)
I am excited about this since I will be able to put a lot bigger fish in it than a 8' 110 because they will have mroe room to turn around.
