4x3 base thickness?

Hi all, i have looked through some of the build section and the glass sizeing chart but nothing to say about this tank size i want to build.
I am building it mainly for my young Motoro rays and maybe the silver aro, that depends on the depth i can get.

Well the foot print will be 4`x 3` but not sure yet on the height, 1` foot will do for the rays but i would prefer 1.5` with the silver aro.

I am thinking that 1/4 glass sides and bottom will be fine on the 1` high but if i go to 1.5` high would you advice thicker base, if so what? Or even thicker base for the 1` high.

Mainly the base thickness i need as it has a larger foot print than normal, just like the mkae sure.

I will be getting old tanks probabley to build this as all the money i have saved plus the 6x2x2 that houses the fish at the minute is going towards the 500g i am building.

I would just up to 1/2" if you increase the height to 18". Otherwise, 1/4" should do just fine.
